Fello: business suite for Indian SMBs
Our own GST-ready business suite for Indian SMBs, covering invoicing, accounting, inventory, CRM and bank reconciliation, run as a multi-tenant SaaS hosted in India.
The problem
Small Indian businesses run on a mix of Tally, Excel and WhatsApp. Invoices, stock, payments and GST live in different places, and the owner’s accountant pieces them together at filing time.
What we built
Fello is our own product, live at product.fello.work. It puts the day-to-day running of the business in one place:
- Sales documents. GST invoices, quotations, purchase orders and delivery challans, with branded PDFs emailed from Fello.
- Accounting. A live profit and loss statement, TDS on bills and payments, and an append-only petty cash book: entries can’t be edited or deleted.
- Inventory and purchases, with approvals on purchase orders and expense claims.
- CRM. Leads, deals and a sales pipeline.
- Bank reconciliation that suggests matches and shows its reasons for each one.
- Migration from Tally and Excel through an import wizard.
- Ageing reports for receivables and payables.
- An Android companion app for field teams.
- GST returns. GSTR-1 preparation and validation in early access, with e-invoicing and ITC reconciliation on the roadmap.
Chartered accountants can join a launch-partner programme for early access.
Architecture
FastAPI and React over PostgreSQL, run as a multi-tenant SaaS. Each customer’s data is isolated in the database itself with PostgreSQL row-level security, not only in application code. A probe runs continuously to check that no rows leak between tenants. The service runs in Docker and is hosted in India.
